Membership to the WPD Public Safety Cadets is open to young adults, 14-20 years of age, interested in a career in law enforcement or other public safety professions. Must be enrolled in school, or have graduated high school, or enrolled in college to apply.
Upon receiving an application for membership and signed waiver, a background check is performed which includes references inquiries, and school conduct.
Meetings are three Wednesdays each month at WPD station, certain equipment would be provided, but a uniform shirt and pants would need to be purchased by the cadet.
